When John Howard decided to make some wine from the vineyards surrounding his home in Vineland, the former owner of Vineland Estates Winery knew the venture would be called a vanity project - or worse! So he decided to have some fun with that notion. "Strictly a retirement project," according to Howard, Megalomaniac wine sales will help support Kids Health Links Foundation, which provides computer technology to children in long-term care facilities to keep connected with family, friends and school.

Staff Estate Winery

Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery is a small, quality oriented winery in Jordan, ON. All fruit used in the production of VQA wines originates from the family vineyard where grape growing has been a core part of our 200 year old estate for over a century.

The experience of visiting is very personal. Come on our estate, pet my dog (Brix), come into my 120 year old farm house and taste the wines from our land in the kitchen - the place where all good parties start and friendships are made.

Sue-Ann is a veteran winemaker having been formally educated and trained in Australia. She was awarded "winemaker of the year" in 2002 making her the first female and youngest ever to receive such distinction. The International Wine and Spirits Competition of London England has twice short-listed Sue-Ann as one of the top 4 women in wine in the world. Having spent 10 years at Pillitteri Estates Winery and a short stint at 20 Bees (both in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON) as winemaker, she has commenced this most recent venture in addition to making wine for Megalomaniac of Vineland, ON

Sue-Ann Staff won Winemaker of the Year in 2002 and is considered to be one of the top female winemakers in the world.

The Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery 2008 Baco Noir label won Gold for "Best Label Design" by the 2010 Ontario Wine Awards.
